SUMMARY

Working independently, the Business Sales Senior Manager role manages all Business-to-Business personnel, as well as leading the implementation and achievement of quarterly and annual business objectives.  This individual also provides leadership, strategic direction, and works with the company Business Sales & Services Vice President to attain all financial metrics and profitability goals and objectives.  The principle business outcome of the role is to create, implement, and execute all policy and procedures necessary to increase production and profitability in the Business-to-Business Department, as well as providing leadership and consultations to the executive team and board members.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Identify, track, and report meaningful performance/progress metrics, and support the team with achieving performance goals

• Actively build the capability of others through relevant, timely balanced feedback; coaching and teaching, encouraging mentoring relationships; and using recognition and rewards to reinforce desirable behaviors

• Establish a business sales strategy with a clear vision to capitalize on the coming wave of computer technology advances

• Retain and deliver organic growth in our target market using innovative outreach methods and techniques

• Develop and implement strategic business sales plans to accommodate corporate goals

• Manage sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly

• Expand business sales by opening new channels and tapping the potential synergies between the consumer and computer technology markets

• Recruit, motivate, retain and develop a high-powered, results-oriented, hands-on marketing organization

• Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control business sales program

• Partner closely with other business functions (Sales, Operations, Service) to form a strong, mutually supportive and effective business team

• Coordinate productive, collaborative liaison between sales department and other units

• Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements

• Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and area of proposed client base expansion

• Monitor and evaluates the activities and products of the competition

• Generate leads and opportunities for the business sales team by aggressively executing online and offline acquisition marketing strategies

• Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales

• Recommend or approve budget, expenditures and appropriations for research and development work

• Drive outstanding business results through traditional management functions including, but not limited to, sourcing and selecting talent, coaching and development, workforce and project scheduling, performance assessment, and general talent planning

• Create a productive, collaborative work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, facilitating teamwork, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance, encouraging risk tolerance, and maintaining open communications.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

• 5 or more years of related experience, preferably at the management level, and including B2B experience

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study required; certifications and related leadership experience may be considered in substitution

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Expert ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to define organizational strategy well

• Expert ability to view the organization within market and cultural contexts to identify entrepreneurial opportunities

• Expert ability to align talent, financial resources, and processes to organizational strategies

• Expert relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership

• Expert ability to manage emotionally-charged disagreements through consensus building, relationship management, and the formation and presentation of logical, business-based arguments

• Proficient innovation and progressive skills in building, launching and developing a brand

• Proficient ability to prepare and deliver compelling business presentations to leaders with varied interest and technical expertise

• Proficient understanding of talent sourcing, acquisition, guidance, coaching, engagement, and retention

• Expert understanding of a B2B environment

• Proficient understanding of a Mac computer operating system, including standard scheduling, document preparation, spreadsheet design and use, and presentation applications
